Create More Success By Learning To Take Compliments

Success has a simple formula: do your best, and people may like it.
Sam Ewing

Now, if you have read my last article on how to Create More Success by Patting Yourself on the Back, you have been (hopefully) setting aside time each day to honor your achievements.  Realizing that setting just a little time aside each day, moves you that much further ahead in your quest to create more success in your personal and professional life. You may have also realized that to Train the Brain, you must also give time to acknowledging even the completion on any tasks or small goals you may have had.  Now is not the time to hold back on the whole ‘self love’ thing.

Gee Whiz…Can’t You Take a Compliment?

Taking that concept one step further, yet, with the same basic principles, is learning to take compliments.  Yes, that’s correct.  If you want to create more success in your life, you are going to have to stop with the faux bashful, semi-shy persona.  You will have to put down the compliment deflection shield and raise up your compliment acceptance sword (pardon me folks, that may have come from the L.O.T.R. Trilogy that was just on TV.)  Either way, there is an enormous divide between confident graciousness (what you want to exude) and classless bravado (not good.)  Accepting compliments is not a bad thing, quite the opposite, it is crucial.  Crucial, not only to your mindset of being successful, but to your belief that you deserve it.

More Auto-Pilot Achieving

What is even more exciting is that, like I have stated before, you can Train your Brain to create more success, automatically.  In fact, now that you have begun the practice of setting aside time each day in order to train your brain to honor achievements, getting it to accept that others honor your achievements will be a snap.

Get Started

Here’s a way for you to start using the acceptance of compliments to create more success, right now…

Me: Great job reading this article and taking an interest in your personal and professional success.

You: Thank You!  I have been meaning to increase my focus on ways to create more success for myself, in all aspects of my life.

Me: Well, you’re welcome.  I can see the difference already.  Good Luck!

See how easy that is…now, maybe next time you can try to pay a compliment back to the person who gave one to you.  You may even decide to pay someone a compliment – just because.  As elementary as it sounds, it will go a long way to elevating your self esteem and to the regards in which others hold you.  Enjoy your journey on the path to create more success for yourself and those around you.
